Tree Care

We offer all phases of tree care throughout Atlanta and surrounding areas.. From pruning to removals, fertilization to disease and insect control, we have it covered. All pruning is done spike-less. If it's not accessible by our bucket truck,  one of our climbers can access the tree without the unnecessary damage caused by spikes. We care for your trees like they are our own. One of our ISA Certified Arborists will be happy to take a look at your property and make recommendations and write you a quote. Premier Tree and Shrub Care performs all services according to industry standards.

Tree Pruning

3679-m.jpgProper pruning is about maintaining good tree health, aesthetics, and keeping your property and landscape safe from falling tree limbs. Most landscape trees require more maintenance. Proper pruning will enhance the beauty of your landscape and compliment the other shrubs, plantings and the lawn area on your property.

Premier Tree and Shrub Care specialists are trained to make the proper pruning cuts necessary to prevent damage to your trees. We utilize a variety of pruning techniques including:

Cleaning: Remove dead, dying, diseased, and crowded branched from the crown of the tree.

Thinning: Selective removal of branches to enhance light penetration and air circulation. This technique also allows airflow through the canopy instead of against it which reduces the risk of damage caused by strong wind. Crown thinning reduces the weight on heavy limbs and promotes the natural shape of the tree

Raising: Remove lower branches to provide clearance for buildings, pedestrians, and vehicles.3680-m.jpg

Crown Reduction: Reduce the overall size of the tree canopy while still maintaining the proper form and structural integrity of the tree.

Tree Removal

Although tree removal is a last resort, there are circumstances when it is necessary. An arborist can help you decide whether or not a tree should be removed. Arborists have the skills and equipment to safely and efficiently remove trees.
*Removal is recommended when:

  • The tree is dead or dying
  • The tree is considered irreparably hazardous
  • The tree is causing an obstruction that is impossible to correct through pruning
  • The tree is crowding or causing harm to other trees
  • The tree is to be replaced by a more suitable specimen

Deep Root Fertilization

Annual deep root fertilization applications are a vital part of promoting healthy vigorous growth of your trees and shrubs.

Benefits include:

  • Slow-release formulation that strengthens root systems, making trees and shrubs stronger and healthier.
  • Builds resistance to disease, insect infestation, and drought.
  • Chloride free with a low-salt index and time-released so it won't burn other plants or their delicate root systems
  • Trees and shrubs will grow healthier, more luxuriant foliage for added beauty and value.
  • Good for newly planted shrubs and trees.
  • Long lasting, pathogen free, odorless, non leaching and non-burning
  • Applied directly into the root zone, where the plants need it most!

Vertical Mulching

Vertical mulching is a time tested method of overcoming the stresses trees face in the unnatural environment most trees are subject to. It creates columns of rich “top soil” down past the grass roots and into the soil area where roots can take advantage of them. Several years after vertical mulching, a careful examination of one of the columns would show thousands of new feeder roots flourishing there. Vertical mulching also provides the perfect opportunity to fertilize your trees. Many trees, especially oaks and maples, have been brought back from the brink of death from proper vertical mulching. Do not expect instant results. Trees slowly go into decline and slowly return to health after vertical mulching. It might be two years or more before the foliage thickens and the tree gets its rich leaf color back. Vertical mulching is the process of making many holes in the soil of the root zone of a particular tree with the purpose of creating many entryways for air, moisture, and nutrients to reach the roots of a given tree. This process improves the overall health and vigor of any tree by reducing soil compaction.
